Johanne Haugland was born and raised in Bergen and started playing the violin at the age of four with Britta Skärby Vindenes. In the spring of 2017, she graduated from her Bachelor studies at the Barratt Due Institute of Music where she had Stephan Barratt-Due as her violin teacher. In 2013, she moved to Venezuela for one year to be a part of the renowned El Sistema project in the Youth Orchestra of Caracas. She is an active chamber and orchestra musician and has performed regularly with the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra, the Oslo Camerata and as a substitute group leader in the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra. Currently, she is a Master student with Peter Herresthal at The Norwegian Academy of Music. She plays a violin made by Gabor Draskóczy, generously lent to her by Dextra Musica.
